Nitrogen Generating Plant by Pressure Swing Adsorption

PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) is used to separate nitrogen gas from air in adsorption tower by feeding the gas under certain pressure.
PSA  is The technology of air-to-nitrogen production with the use of adsorption processes in nitrogen generators for the recovery of high-purity nitrogen.
PSA nitrogen generator plants allow production of high-purity nitrogen (up to 99.9995%
)  from air, that membrane systems are unable to provide , The nitrogen generators use CMS (carbon molecular sieve) technology to produce a continuous supply of ultra high purity nitrogen at normal temperature using clean compressed air as raw material and carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent.
The system's design is based on the regulation of gas adsorption and adsorbent regeneration by means of changing pressures in two adsorber–adsorbent-containing vessels. Because of the different adsorption of oxygen and nitrogen on carbon molecular sieve surface ,
the oxygen is adsorbed to its equilibrium value much faster than nitrogen because oxygen is smaller in size (kinetic diameter 3.46 A.o) diffuses much faster in carbon molecular sieves than nitrogen (kinetic diameter 3.64 A.o).
separation of oxygen and nitrogen is achieved as well as different diffusion rate through the open/close of program control valve.
When pre-filtered compressed air is passed through one CMS bed, Nitrogen comes out as the product gas. The waste gas (oxygen,H2O, CO2) is discharged back into atmosphere. At the adsorption stage Oxygen, H2O and CO2 molecules diffuse into the pore structure of the adsorbent whilst the nitrogen molecules are allowed to travel through the adsorber–adsorbent-containing vessel. At the regeneration stage the adsorbed components are released from the adsorbent vented into the atmosphere. for continuous supply of Nitrogen the process switches nitrogen generation to the other bed, while allowing the saturated bed to undergo regeneration by depressurization to atmospheric pressure.
The systems produce nitrogen to capacities of more than 200NM3/H at purities with a residual oxygen content of 10 ppm. with use of subsequent treatment residual oxygen content will be less than 2ppm .

Nitrogen Generating Plant by Membrane Separation

Membrane systems based on the principle of differential velocity of various gas mixture components . The driving force in the gas separation process is the difference in partial pressures on different membrane sides. The Nitrogen separation Membrane is a cylindrical bundle and Each bundle contains several million hollow fiber fine tubes made from polymer material.
The compressor compressed air into the polymer membrane filters Air enters at one end and flows to the opposite end through the fiber bore. the membranes act like a filter with no moving parts and continuously generate nitrogen at selected flow rate and purity.
According to the characteristics, various gases can be divided into "rapid" and "slow " gas , Pressurized air is fed through one end of the Membrane.Gas separation takes place through fiber wall.
First, the rapid gas (O2, CO2 and some vapor) infiltrate through the fiber wall and exit at atmospheric pressure through the vent nozzle on the outer side of the Membrane separator. slow gas Nitrogen does not permeate through the fiber wall. it will flow out from the gas collector at the end of the pressure box and finally enter nitrogen product gas
.
the Nitrogen  exits pressure is 0.3 to 1 Bar lower than inlet compressed air  pressure. The Nitrogen product gas is extremely dry, with atmospheric dew points typically below -60°C. Nitrogen plants are cost effective, reliable and simple in operation.
